With over 15 years in the Jewellery industry, Managing Director John Cooney’s prosperous journey so far has hinged on three key moments. The first came along when he began working in Fields Jewellers while in school. A weeks work led to several years. John got a taste for the Jewellery business and built his knowledge on the industry from the ground up. John left Fields in 1999 to open his own Retail jewellery business where after a few years he expanded to two stores. During this time John formed a partnership with IBB Amsterdam and carried their Brands on an Agency basis. John sold his retail business in 2007 and set up IBB Dublin Ltd. In 2013 John Cooney was named as one of the 100 most influencial people in the UK Jewellery industry and featured in the UK Professional Jeweller HOT 100.
James has a strong understanding of the Jewellery industry having worked for The Anthony Nicolas Group for many Years. He brought his skills and expertise to IBB Dublin and was a major part of the company formation in 2007. An Accountant by profession James (Nickname Ivor) is one of the 3 company directors. Ivor Manages the debtors and all banking as well as making sure all our Creditors are paid on time.
In April 2015 Keith joined IBB Dublin as Financial Controller where he has responsibility for Finance, IT, Asset Management and Logistics. Keith brings over 10 years’ experience in financial management, expertise in risk management and regulation, and has strong knowledge of management within organisations. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a B.A. in Accountancy & Finance from Dublin City University.
Keith’s most recent role was as Divisional Financial controller with Siteserv where he was responsible for the Irish and UK subsidiaries specialising in the supply of infrastructure to the construction and events sector. Previous to that, Keith worked with PW Group and BYMAC as Financial Controller. Keith trained with BDO Simpson Xavier as a Chartered Accountant.
Graduate Lyndsey Dunne has strong links to the jewellery business after working in the industry for several years at John Brooks Jewellers in New Ross. Through this time Lyndsey has acquired a strong knowledge of the industry. Her role as Brand Manager requires her to analyse the market and plan how the brands will be positioned in that market. Lyndsey has been at the forefront of driving IBB Dublin forward to become a major supplier to the Jewellery trade in both Ireland and the UK.
Katie is yet another member of the IBB Dublin staff that has come from a Jewellery Retail Background. Formally an employee of Breo Jewellers in Nenagh, Katie joined the staff of IBB in 2013 as an Account Manager. Katie’s role at IBB Dublin is to develop and strengthen the relationship between customer and product and to ensure that our brands appeal to their target market. Katie is also responsible for increasing both brand awareness and sales.
Talented musician and singer Dennis has been a part of the IBB Dublin team since its initial opening in 2007. He previously worked in the Retail Jewellery trade and as a result, Dennis has a vast understanding of the Jewellery industry. His role as Brand Manager requires him to analyse the market and plan how the brands will be positioned in that market, in order to appeal to the public. He has total responsibility for managing the distribution of his brands and managing inventory in order to maximise sales. Dennis was heavily involved in securing the Irish Casio Distribution in 2013. Dennis is based between Ireland and the UK.
Fred Argue joined the team as a Casio consultant several years ago, after we took on the Casio watch Distribution business in Ireland. Fred has worked with Casio and their sub Brands for over 20 years. His knowledge of the Jewellery Industry in Ireland is second to none, Fred's experience has proved invaluable to the company. His knowledge of all things watches and Casio is legendary in the Irish Jewellery Trade. He also plays a mean Piano.
Barry joined IBB Dublin in 2016. IBB Dublin are constantly trying to improve our customer service and Barry was added to the team to attempt to drive on our customer service to a higher level. Barry manages the stock warehouses and operations deparment. He has gained a great understanding of general operations as well as stock managment during his 10 years years working for Carphone Warehouse/Dixons.
Monika was born in Poland and now resides in Ireland. Monika worked in the Shoe Trade in Ireland for 10 years before joining the IBB Dublin team in 2016. She works in the operations department. Monika's Role is to ensure we provide the speediest delivery of orders and the best possible customer service at all times.
Julie Kerr looks after all returns and repairs as well as working closely with Key accounts and Sales Agents. She also assists in the Operations department. Since joinging the team in 2016 we have dramatically improved the speed of handling of all repairs and returns.
